The government has approved a plan to help Vietnamese businesses
directly participate in foreign distribution networks through 2020 to
help Vietnamese goods penetrate international markets, a senior
government official said.
The awards for Viet Nam''s most favourite brands were conferred on 34
businesses across several industries at a ceremony held in HCM City on
December 26.
Despite the global economic turmoil, HCM City has been attracting more
and more investment from both overseas and domestic sources, indicated
by the rising numbers of newly-established firms and capital.
Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade''s Domestic Market
Department Tran Nguyen Nam has said domestic enterprises can still
compete in Viet Nam''s increasingly competitive retail market.
Supermarket chain Sai Gon Co.op expects sales to
increase by at least 50 per cent in October after it rolled out five big
promotions to mark Viet Nam Women''s Day on October 20.
